Tire intake

All scrap tires received at a Genan plant are processed and recycled sustainably, allowing for the recycling of excellent raw materials.

Intake and recycling

A second life for tires

At Genan, we turn end-of-life tires into new resources.
We recycle tires from cars, vans, lorries, tractors, and large industrial vehicles – separating them into rubber, steel, and textile. The process is fully automated from start to finish, ensuring consistent, high-quality output – without human hands ever touching the tires.

Are you a tire collector?

Find your nearest Genan plant below – and reach out to arrange delivery. All tires we receive are recycled with care – and transformed into valuable raw materials that can be used again and again.

What type of tires do we accept?

We accept used standard tires from:
  • Passenger cars
  • Pick-up trucks
  • Lorries/trucks
  • Motorbikes
  • Off-the-road (OTR) vehicles

Check local acceptance criteria below – or contact our intake staff to learn how tires must be sorted.

We only accept tires if:

  1. The supplier contacts our weighbridge before unloading – and presents a correctly filled-in consignment note, unless otherwise agreed.
  2. Tires are clean – not covered in soil, mud, paint, or other contaminants like stones or foreign objects.
  3. Trucks are weighed on arrival and after unloading. A weight slip will be provided, and invoicing is based on the received tonnage.
  4. Walking floors or containers are clean before loading tires or tire chips.
  5. Tires do not contain TPMS sensors – especially internal, vulcanized ones.
  • Shredded and split tires, half tyres or smaller tire parts
  • Industrial / solid rubber tires
  • Foam-filled tires
  • Bicycle and wheelbarrow tires
  • Tire hoses / inner tubes
  • Tires damaged from fire or chemicals
  • Colored tires (white-wall tires, painted tires or tires contaminated with paint)
  • Tires from landfills, agricultural silo coverings or demolition sites
  • Tires with rope, swing hangers, chains, screws or similar foreign objects
  • Not fully vulcanized tires
  • Aircraft tires
  • Self-sealing tires, low-noise tires (sealed and silent tires) and tires with comparable properties
  • Solid, black rubber tires WITH iron core
  • Truck tires with iron belts
  • Caterpillar tracks from e.g. mini diggers
  • Tires with battery-operated “Tyre Pressure Monitoring System” sensors (TPMS)
  • Dirty tires (i.e. tyres covered in soil or algae/moss or containing stones)

Only accepted by prior written agreement.
