GENAN PELLETS
GENAN PELLETS are made from Genan rubber powder derived from end-of-life tires. Each pellet is precision-formed – manufactured with a specific diameter and cut off to a specific length. For instance, the diameter of GENAN PELLETS 4.2 / 5 is Ø4.2 mm, and pellets are 5 mm long.
Once laid, the natural cavity structure between pellets improves water permeability and enhances elastic properties, enabling excellent energy absorption. Their uniform shape means less surface area compared to traditional granulate – resulting in lower bulk density, better shock absorption, and minimal compaction.
Because less material is needed, base layers made with GENAN PELLETS can reduce rubber and binder use by up to 30% compared to conventional solutions.

Paramount for any playground surface is, of course, that children are as safe as possible while they play. Especially from higher fall heights, the performance of base layers is put to the test.
In safety tests for a 3-metre critical fall height, playground surfaces built with GENAN SAFE pellets consistently deliver HIC values well below the 1,000 threshold – even with thinner base layers. Compared to surfaces made with traditional rubber granulate, GENAN PELLETS offer significantly better impact performance.
