Our US team is looking for an experienced, well-rounded Maintenance Mechanic to work in our tyre recycling plant in Houston, Texas.

About the job​

Qualifications & experience​

The position requires a minimum of 3 years of work experience as a maintenance mechanic. Technical schooling or certification will be of advantage.

You must be skilled and comfortable with basic power tools and measuring instruments and be familiar with the metric system. Basic welding skills are a plus. Candidates with prior experience from a similar industry or manufacturing setting shall be preferred.

Key responsibilities

The Maintenance Mechanic supports the plant in the production of product by performing maintenance, repair, installation, dismantle and/or removal of machinery.

  • Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production
  • Effectively responds to equipment failures to minimise downtime
  • Performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service
  • Performs scheduled preventative maintenance for all equipment as needed
  • Performs mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting of production machines
  • Light electrical troubleshooting and repair to include motors, sensors, and light machine wiring
  • Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service
  • Complies with OSHA safety and health rules
